The Winter Smoking Room at Cardiff Castle

When we went into the Winter Smoking Room, we were surprised to see that the walls were covered in beautiful decorations- especially the Zodiac signs! They were decorated with lovely patterns. The theme of the Winter Smoking room at Cardiff Castle is time. The Paintings on the ceiling and walls show the seasons and months of the year. The corbels or corner pieces show the different stages of a day. The stained glass windows show the days of the week, with Sunday being represented by a giant sun shaped ceiling rose. The months of the year are represented by Signs of the Zodiac or star signs. Everyone in class was inspired to design our own Zodiac signs that could be used to decorate the smoking room. We hope you like our designs.
