Who Were The Tudors?

The Tudors reigned from 1485-1603. The first Tudor king was Henry VII. He became king by winning the Battle of Bosworth against Richard III. He married Elisabeth of York. They had 3 children Arthur, Henry and Margaret.

Arthur married Catherine of Aragon but he died so Henry married Catherine of Aragon. Henry became king in 1509. Henry VIII had six wives: Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Catherine Howard and Catherine Parr.

Henry VIII had 3 children: Mary, Elizabeth and Edward. When Henry died in 1547, Edward became king at nine years of age. He was only king for six years and was succeeded first by Lady Jane Grey for nine days then by Mary Tudor.

Mary was the oldest sister. She was on the throne for six years. Elizabeth succeeded Mary and was the longest reigning Tudor monarch.
